Social Media Internship in WFP in Italy

The World Food Program (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization that works with local communities to improve nutrition and build resiliency. It saves and changes lives and offers food aid in times of need.

The Social Media Intern will help the Freerice Project Manager with the creation, administration, and distribution of multimedia assets for Freerice (including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter) and worldwide WFP initiatives.

Freerice is a philanthropic trivia game that informs players about the objectives and pursuits of the World Food Programme. The Team supports the Communications Division by increasing interest in and awareness of WFP’s worldwide programs through creative in-game messaging and content production. The Team also aims to develop a user-friendly platform via the web and applications in order to foster better user acceptance of the game and lengthier gameplay, which will result in increased financial donations to WFP’s work through the game.

After completing the task, the Intern should have developed:

  • Maintaining high levels of support for their users via social media and email, and ongoing expansion of the communities on social media platforms.
  • In Freerice.com and on social media, new visuals and multimedia components.
  • For both internal and external audiences, new promotional materials.
  • Partnerships and collaborations with content producers and volunteers that are strategic.
  • The Project Manager receives a monthly performance report from Freerice.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The World Food Program (WFP) will accept applicants with degrees from accredited universities that have received approval from relevant international or national organizations, such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or education ministries.
  • Sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters of WFP staff employees are ineligible to apply, as are candidates who share any of these relationships.
  • Now enrolled in an accredited college or graduate program, or have just graduated (within the last six months) in a discipline related to communication, sales, marketing, graphic design, etc.
  • Has completed at least two years of undergraduate study and has taken classes at a university within the previous twelve months.
  • Possess great visual design and digital storytelling abilities that can be tailored for various internet platforms.
  • Experience managing huge online groups and maintaining social media profiles.
  • It is highly recommended that you have proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects.
  • Possess the ability to create visual and graphic products for a variety of internal and external audiences.
  • Proactive, clever, and able to work alone.
  • Excellent English communication abilities, both verbally and in writing.
  • Totally dedicated and driven to fulfill the objectives of the UN World Food Programme.
