International doctorate candidates can now submit applications to the University of Alberta for the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Scholarship. A $45,000 grant from the Killam Trusts Scholarships supports the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Scholarship at the University of Alberta in Canada.
For this one-year scholarship, which is renewable in year two of the grant, exceptional students who are enrolled in or eligible for a doctorate program are encouraged to apply. Students may also receive a certificate of acknowledgment and any appropriate International Graduate Differential Fee.
Additionally, the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Scholarship has an honorary status. If a student receives an outside scholarship, they must take it.
The Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Scholarship program offers one-year scholarships to deserving students, subject to renewal in the second year of the award. Students may also receive a certificate of acknowledgment and any appropriate International Graduate Differential Fee.
Additionally, graduating recipients of the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Scholarship who qualify may take advantage of parental leave. The purpose of this benefit, which will take effect on January 1, 2023, is to assist recipients who do not have access to alternative paid parental leave options.
