Notice: Interns are not paid by UNESCO. For internship tasks, there is no compensation of any kind. Interns are entitled to 2.5 days of leave each month while they are on their internship.

Eligibility Criteria for UNESCO Internship 2023

  • To apply, you must be at least 20 years old.
  • You have a graduate program in which you are presently enrolled (Master’s, Ph.D., or equivalent, second university degree or above).
  • 12 months before the internship begins, you received your Master’s or Ph.D. from an accredited institution.
  • Please be aware that individuals who have successfully finished a full-time bachelor’s degree but are not currently enrolled in a graduate program are unable to apply.
  • In order to be considered for a secretarial/assistant or technical/professional assignment, a candidate must be enrolled in a secretarial school or a specialized technical/professional institution, be in their final year of study or have recently graduated (within the past 12 months) from their school or institution.
  • You should have a strong grasp of either English or French in both written and spoken form. For internships in secretarial and assistantship positions at the Headquarters, having a basic understanding of the other language (whether it be English or French) is advantageous and could even be needed.
  • You must be well knowledgeable about computer networks and business-related applications.
  • You must be able to adapt to a global work environment and operate well in a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must.
