Through interministerial decree number 24, dated September 3, 2021, Brazil established the granting of a temporary visa and residence permit for the purpose of humanitarian reception for Afghan nationals, stateless individuals, and individuals affected by a situation of serious or impending institutional instability, serious human rights violation, or international humanitarian law in Afghanistan.
The Brazilian embassies in Moscow, Tehran, Abu Dhabi, Ankara, Doha, and Islamabad are now the places to go for this visa.
It should be noted that recent political changes in Afghanistan have put the people for whom the visa is meant at actual risk.
In order to apply for a visa in Tehran, you must go to the Embassy (by appointment only) with the necessary documentation:
Any required paperwork must be electronically submitted using the online form. After thoroughly completing the online form, the candidate must print the electronic receipt, sign it, and include a 34 photo.
The citizen must have an airline ticket reserved to Brazil at the time of the interview at the Brazilian Embassy to be eligible for this visa.
The applicant will be responsible for covering the cost of all types of support in Brazil, it should be noted.
Although not required, it is nonetheless ideal for the citizen to already be in touch with a Brazilian local who can meet and greet him when he arrives.
At the Brazilian embassy in Tehran, only 50 interviews for the humanitarian visa are allowed to be held each day. In order to visit the embassy, applicants must schedule an appointment beforehand.
The applicant must submit an email to vistos.teera@itamaraty.gov.br with the subject APPOINTMENT and his full name in order to make an appointment.
Do not include any attachments with this email. Requests for appointments won’t be taken into account.
In addition to contacting the embassy’s consular service branch, applicants should present the following documentation.
You must have legitimate travel documentation.
reservation of an airline ticket using a completed computerized application form.
There are no fees associated with the humanitarian visa.
